Account deletion
Delete your Rounds account
You can do it yourself, inside the app, in about ten seconds. If you cannot get into the app, email us and we will do it for you.
Delete it yourself
- Open Rounds and go to Profile.
- Tap Preferences.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
It happens immediately. There is no waiting period, no grace period, and no undo. This is not a hide or a deactivate.
If you cannot get into the app
Email hello@roundsems.com
Write from the email address on your account, or tell us the phone number you signed up with. We will check it is you, delete the account, and write back to confirm. We answer within 30 days, and usually within a few days.
What gets erased
The account row and everything attached to it:
- your quiz history and every answer you have given
- your saved and flagged questions
- your onboarding survey answers
- your streak and your XP
- your friends and your blocks
- any feedback you sent us
- the notification token for your phone
Your name comes off the leaderboard, because the record behind it is gone.
What outlives it
Two things, and neither one identifies you once the account is gone.
- A question report. If you told us one of our questions was wrong, the report stays in our editing queue with your name and account stripped off it. It is a note about our content rather than about you, and deleting it would lose the correction.
- A payment record. If you bought a subscription, the record of that payment stays in our accounting for as long as tax and refund rules require. It holds the amount, the date and an internal reference number. No name, no phone number, no email address.
We also keep encrypted database backups on a rolling basis for about a week, so a deleted record can sit in a backup until it ages out.
Your subscription is separate. Cancel it too.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Google and Apple hold that billing, not us, and we cannot stop it on your behalf.
- Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Rounds EMS, then Cancel subscription.
- Apple: open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Rounds EMS, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel first, then delete. If you delete the account first you can still cancel, but you will have to do it from the store app rather than from inside Rounds.
Everything we collect and why is in the privacy policy. If any of this does not match what actually happened, tell us at hello@roundsems.com and we will fix the page.
