How this practice test works
- You get 20 EMT-level questions, mixed across seven topics so no single subject decides your score.
- Pick an answer and you see right away if it is correct, with the reason it is right and, if you missed it, why your choice was wrong.
- At the end you get your score and your weakest topic, so you know what to study next.

Frequently asked questions
Is this NREMT practice test free?
Yes. All 20 questions, every explanation and your score by topic are free, with no account and no email needed.
Are these real NREMT questions?
No one outside the NREMT has the real exam questions. These are exam-style questions from the Rounds EMS bank, written for the EMT level and reviewed before students see them.
How many questions are on the NREMT EMT exam?
The NREMT EMT exam is a computer adaptive test, so the number of questions changes from person to person. Our guide to the exam explains how the length and scoring work.
What score do I need to pass?
The NREMT does not publish a percentage to pass. It is pass or fail against a standard set for an entry-level EMT. Use your score here to find weak topics, not to predict a result.
Please follow your local protocols and your medical director’s orders. This practice test is for exam study only and does not replace them.
